840 volunteers join SVF for World Environment Day Mega Cleanup
Single-day drive collected 4.8 tonnes of plastic across 12 locations in Hyderabad.
HYDERABAD, 5 June 2025 — Over 840 volunteers joined SVF’s World Environment Day Mega Cleanup today, collecting 4.8 tonnes of plastic waste across 12 locations in Hyderabad.
The event, held in partnership with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and six corporate partners, was the largest single-day cleanup organised by SVF. Volunteers included corporate teams, school groups, college students and local residents.
“This is what a city-wide movement looks like,” said the SVF Field Coordinator. “Each bag collected represents someone choosing to act on a problem that affects us all.”
The collected waste was transported to SVF’s MRF for sorting and recycling. The event also featured awareness stalls, segregation demonstrations and a pledge drive for plastic-free campuses.
